Step 6: Create a Parting Surface

In this section, we will learn how to create an automatic parting surface from a parting line.

Pick  to enter the Parting Surface creation mode: you notice that it activates all modeling features in the toolbar, with extra dedicated features for Mold Design.

Pick  to start the Automatic Parting Surface Creation. We will not explain this feature, but will only select what we need for our example.

Select from the model tree the silhouette curve we have created (SILH_CURVE_01) and then OK, Done, OK to validate the feature. The result is the creation of a Parting Surface as follows:

You may now validate the parting surface creation completion:

and the new feature Skirt Surface Id... (PART_SURF_1 - PARTING SURFACE) is created.
