Strep 8: Extract Parts

In this section, we will generate solid .PRT parts from the split volumes. These parts can then be used in other applications like Pro/NC.

Pick to extract the volumes into solid models.

Select only CORE_PINS, MOLD_CAVITY, MOLD_CORE and SLIDER to be extracted as solid models.

You may even rename the resulting solid model (you may add the pre-text HUB_MLD_).
Tip: It is also a recommended practice to use "Copy From" and select a template part (such as mmns_part_solid, or one of your own template parts) so that the resulting parts have default datum planes, saved view names, and so on.

Press OK and note in the model tree the four new models:

You may now look at the parts one by one (RMB Open on each part).
