PTC Tutorial Launcher

Supported Browsers

• The HTML tutorial was developed and tested using Internet Explorer 6.0 on Windows XP.
  Instructions below are for this version, you will need to adjust specific steps accordingly for other browsers / platforms.
• It should also work with IE7, and Firefox 2.x.

Add to Trusted Zone / Enable Javascript

• Javascript is used to launch secondary windows without toolbars, and for some navigation and display elements.
1. Tools > Internet Options > Security
2. Add *.ptc.com to Trusted Sites
, or
3. Custom Level...use Medium settings, and Enable Active scripting

Allow Pop-ups

• Your browser must allow pop-ups for the secondary windows to launch.
• Look for a warning message like this at the top of the browser window:


• Click the info bar, and allow pop-ups (or follow steps below):
  
  1. Tools > Internet Options > Privacy
  2. Disable pop-ups, or add *.ptc.com to the Allowed sites list under Settings...
     
• Also check for any 3rd party toolbars (e.g., Google, Yahoo) with pop-up blocking!

Accept Cookies

• Your browser must allow session and first-party cookies to access ptc.com.

If you added ptc.com domain to your trusted sites, this step should not be required.

1. Tools > Internet Options > Privacy
2. Sites...add *.ptc.com to Always Allow list
, or
3. Move the slider to Medium setting for Internet Zone

Window Conflict

• Another browser window with the same internal handle may be causing a security conflict.
• Close all default browser windows, and try to launch again.
